Temporary Ceasefire Announced!

After 15 months of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, the New York Young Communist League celebrates the incoming temporary ceasefire deal, and the victory of the Palestinian people over Zionist aggression, as well as the accomplishments of solidarity movements around the world.

We hope the ceasefire will not succumb to Israeli sabotage so that the people of Palestine may finally bury and grieve for their martyrs, and begin to rebuild what has been destroyed. Reports of Netanyahu’s delay tactics in the ceasefire process highlight Israel’s continued bad faith in negotiations.

This temporary ceasefire is only a first step. A permanent ceasefire and full Palestinian liberation is still needed. Israel must be held to full account for the genocide it has carried out. We recognize that Palestine and its people will not be free until they are in total control of their autonomy and the US-backed Zionist project has been toppled completely.

Keep organizing and growing the movement. We must keep fighting until Zionism is defeated and Palestine is truly free 🇵🇸
